We at ExtremeLine have used this knowledge to develop four different infrared radiant heaters according to the latest standards.

The advantages are obvious.

A lower room temperature reduces heating costs, there is hardly any air turbulence, which is a particular benefit for allergy sufferers, and draughts and humidity are avoided. We have also designed the radiant heaters so that you can get the maximum ExtremeLine infrared heat from our products. We achieve this through the open heating surfaces, the absence of glass in front of the tubes, a high radiation range and a fast heat-up phase. ExtremeLine products therefore offer maximum warmth – any time, any place.

In addition, we explicitly only use IR-B and IR-C radiation in our products and therefore avoid long-wave radiation. We do not use IR-A radiation, as this penetrates up to 6 mm into the deeper layers of the skin and thus accelerates skin ageing. IR-A is also not necessarily recommended for the eyes without protective goggles.

Another point worth knowing is that we have had our HeatTube tested by Seibersdorf Laboratories EN 60335-2-53, which means that this radiant heater is also approved for use in the wellness sector. Furthermore, our devices have received multiple awards and we are proud of our EMAS certification achieved in 2022.

Healthy heat - for your well-being

As our infrared radiators emit in the optimum infrared spectrum (infrared B or infrared C), the radiation is not only particularly pleasant for the human skin, but also very well tolerated. The even radiation power as well as the possibility to set different power levels ensure that you feel completely comfortable! Our products provide feel-good warmth based on the principle of nature. Infrared energy warms bodies and objects directly without significantly heating the surrounding air. Due to the atmospheric permeability, infrared energy can be emitted in a skin-friendly way with little loss up to a distance of four meters.

With infrared-A, on the other hand, the penetration depth into the skin is up to a fatal 6 mm, which is extremely dangerous and can even damage the retina in the eye. With infrared B, the penetration depth is up to 1 mm and with infrared C it is only up to 0.3 mm. Industries in the healthcare sector rely exclusively on infrared B and C radiation.

Another advantage over ready-made heaters is that the infrared heater heats bodies rather than air. This means that there is no air circulation and dust is avoided.

Control system

You can control our infrared radiant heaters in three power levels by radio. The radiant heaters can also be controlled and configured using an Android smartphone. In addition to the in-house ExRemote, Somfy IO (HomeControl IO), Warema WMS and EnOcean BLE are also available as radio systems. Further information can be found here.

Ecodesign Directive

The EU has adopted a regulation for infrared and electric heaters, which has been binding since 01.01.2018. According to EU Regulation 2015/1188 on the Ecodesign Directive 2009/125/EC, infrared and electric heaters must meet defined control criteria within a building envelope. These include remote control, a room thermostat, a weekday control, the option of different heating levels and an operating time limit. The building envelope also includes garages, cellars, winter and summer gardens and enclosed extensions.

FACTORY CONTROL

ExtremeLine products that are supplied with internal or external controls from the factory comply with EU Regulation 2015/1188, so you don’t have to worry about anything else with ExtremeLine products in order to comply with this regulation.

ON-SITE CONTROL

ExtremeLine offers some products from the factory without the control unit required for EU Regulation 2015/1188. This is useful if the installer wants to install their own control system that complies with the regulation. In this case, the installer is responsible for compliance with EU Regulation 2015/1188. In this case, the distributor is expressly the installer.

Why infrared heaters are more environmentally friendly

When a conventional heating system, such as water-borne underfloor heating, is turned on, it takes hours to several days to deliver noticeable heat to people. To shorten this reaction time, such heating systems constantly maintain a high room temperature. This often consumes unnecessary energy. With infrared radiant heaters, on the other hand, the full heat output is available within a very short time, emitting targeted heat to people or objects. This also enables spontaneous use.
